Sometimes in the search results a site is shown for irrelevant queries or in the report in the wrong position where it is located. Google search employee John Mueller explained the reasons why this is happening:
- local targeting;
- fluctuations in data centers;
- images (they are the reason for ranking if the unusual key in the report has a lot of impressions, a high position in the ranking, and a few clicks).
When analyzing the results, John Mueller advises to first determine the country from which the impressions are coming. Then already apply advanced Google settings to display the results of that country. This makes it easier to understand what users are seeing.
