The display of special offers on Google has changed

Google has added three innovations: 

  • updated the way special offers are shown in Google Shopping; 
  • added a new statistics page to track their effectiveness;
  • created the ability to sync stores for companies using apps from Shopify and WooCommerce.

Goods marked "Promotions" will now show up in a new feed in the "Purchases" tab. To open it, you will need to select the "Offers" menu in Google Purchases. This feed also opens when you search for "Great Bargains" or "Black Friday. Goods marked with "Promotions" will be added to the feed automatically, and their position and highlighting depend on the attractiveness of the offer and the size of the discount. The "Merchandise" tab in the Merchant Center will show which items qualify for display with the "Promotion" tag ("Special Offer," "Discounted Price," or "Discounted").

A new Merchant Center statistics page will appear for items with that marking. You can now see the number of impressions, clicks and CTR for them. The data can be easily segmented by promotion type, product, brand and category.

In addition, the search engine has added store sync for companies using apps from Shopify and WooCommerce, so companies of all sizes can show special offers on Google.
