The Google Ads blog presents new items for advertising applications:

  • showing ads for Android apps on desktops;
  • creating events without updating the code;
  • data-driven attribution (DDA) for deep link campaigns and a deep link validator.

Starting June, Google will begin serving Google.com desktop and KMS users with ads for Android apps. By clicking on an ad for an app in a browser on a computer, the user will be taken to the Google Play Store for Computers and can install the app on any Android device associated with their Google Play account.

However, advertisers who already have ads running for an Android app will not need to change their campaign settings. Data on traffic from desktops and advertising efficiency will automatically be added to the campaign reports in the "Computers" section.
Now, to create a custom event, you do not need to interfere with the code and update the application code: creating and changing events in the mobile application is available right in the Google Analytics interface.

Added data-driven attribution (DDA) for campaigns with deep links to help advertisers track which channels and ad interactions are driving conversions. This will make your campaign bids more efficient and your ads more effective.

In addition, Google has updated the Content Link Validator and Impact Calculator. These tools provide an opportunity to assess the return on investment in advertising, allow you to find out what types of deep links work and how to fix those that do not work.
