Facebook will develop audio formats

Facebook plans to launch audio creation tools right on the platform. They will allow you to convert speech to text, add sound effects and make spatial audio – sound with a surround sound effect.

Also, within a few months, the application will be able to listen to podcasts, select them according to interests and play them in the background without leaving the platform.

The new tools will allow users to record Soundbites – short creative audio clips in which to share anecdotes, jokes, poems and more, the company explained.

Live Audio Rooms

Facebook will also start testing voice rooms – Live Audio Rooms, recordings from which can be published in podcast format. In addition, in the summer they will appear not only on Facebook, but also on Messenger.

In addition to voice rooms, users will be able to monetize new features of the service: creators of audio rooms will be able to take money for access in the form of a purchase or a subscription, and listeners will have the opportunity to support creators through the Facebook Stars service or send donations to charity.
