Rebranding launch: Google My Business will become Google Business Profile

The source – blog.google

Google will rename the Google My Business service to Google Business Profile and add new features. This is the sixth name for the tool. But in the future, the existing web interface Google My Business will be refocused to support larger companies with multiple branches, it will be called Business Profile Manager.

Businesses will be able to manage listings (if they are individual pages rather than branch networks) directly in Search or Maps, either through a web interface or mobile apps.

Among the new features added by Google to the service:

  1. The ability to claim and confirm ownership of a profile directly in Search and Maps.
  2. Call history (will appear in the U.S. and Canada for now).
  3. The ability to exchange messages directly from Search.

Access to the dashboard in Google will show a search by company name in Search/Maps or by "My Company" in Search.
