Banning Google Ads on cell and gene therapy ads

The source – support.google.com

Google Ads policy has been updated for unproven and experimental treatments. They clarify the prohibition of advertising cell and gene therapy, regardless of regulatory approval.

According to the updated Google Ads policy, it is prohibited to promote:

  • unproven and experimental treatments such as biohacking, self-gene modification products, and gene therapy kits;
  • cell and gene therapy: for example, stem cells, cell therapy (non-stem), platelet-rich plasma, as well as gene therapy and other similar forms of regenerative medicine.

However, as stated in the help from Google Ads, violating the policy will not result in immediate account suspension. Advertisers will receive a warning at least seven days prior to account suspension.
