YouTube has unveiled three new options. The service will now:
- will allow you to automatically recognize places mentioned in videos and add them to the description in link format;
- will help you edit automatically created chapters;
- will make it easier to group subscriptions into collections.
The Places Mentioned feature will replace the addition of text links to places mentioned in videos, and thus make it easier for authors. It will first be tested on select food and drink videos.
Authors will also be able to edit the titles of those chapters that were created automatically in the description.
The new Collections feature for subscriptions is also being tested. It will make it easier for users to find videos in different categories based on the channels to which they are subscribed. They will be able to create and edit collections on their own. Users in the test sample have already started to see an automatically created "Favorites" selection with channels whose content they recently watched.
