Twitter decided to abandon the Fleets format, the analogue of Instagram Stories, due to the low popularity of the format.
Fleets were designed to attract new users - as a tool for self-expression for those who, for whatever reason, hesitate to post tweets. But, as it turned out, since the launch of Fleets, their number has not increased, and the format was more often used by those who already tweet often, as it allows you to make content more visible in the application.
The Fleets format was introduced in March 2020 and launched worldwide at the end of November. In June 2021, the company began testing ads in this section.
