Twitter tests Birdwatch notes to tweets

The source – techcrunch.com

Twitter is expanding access to Birdwatch. Its purpose is to identify and flag misinformation in tweets by users.

The service was tested by a group of 10 thousand participants: they checked the published information and wrote notes, adding more context to potentially misleading tweets.

Users in the test sample will help improve Birdwatch by rating the post as "Useful," "Not Very Useful," or "Useless" and justifying their opinion.

But Twitter does not specify when the public launch will take place, nor how many users in the U.S. will see Birdwatch notes and be able to rate them, nor what percentage of the U.S. user base of the service was included in the test group.
