TikTok has overtaken YouTube in terms of average audience engagement and average video viewing time. Users spend 24.5 hours a month on the social network. TikTok has approximately 700 million active users and has been the most downloaded app in the world since 2020.

YouTube retains first place in total time spent due to the fact that it has a larger audience overall.
