Selected Gmail campaigns will be read-only starting July 8, 2021

Starting July 8, 2021, advertisers will not be able to create new campaigns for Gmail or ad group in existing campaigns of this type.

The update applies to all interfaces for working with Google Ads:

  • Google Ads editor;
  • API;
  • web interface and third-party services.

Discovery campaigns are suggested for targeting Gmail. Discovery ads reach audiences for YouTube and Google Discover, along with Gmail users.

Email ads are shown in the Inbox of personal accounts on the Promotions and Social Networks tabs.
