Google has confirmed a bug in its Google Shopping Ads product that caused the price per click (CPC) to jump from 50% to over 200% over the weekend.

The cost per click jumped on the evening of Nov. 12 and remained high until the morning of Nov. 13.

Google confirmed the problem on Nov. 13 via Twitter. The company said, "Google Ads detected an unexpected problem between 6:00 p.m. PT on Friday, November 12 and 3:00 a.m. PT on Saturday, November 13, that affected product ads. We have identified and fixed the problem. Everything is now working as expected."

What's more, Google will refund the overruns on accounts by December 3. Notification of this can be seen in the advertising cabinet.
