John Mueller responded to a question on Twitter about whether a site should expect negative effects from customized linking between language or regional versions of pages.
The Google spokesman said he could hardly even think of a single reason why the practice might be perceived negatively.
Mueller added: "Linking makes it easier for both users and search engines to interact with the site."
