Services were unavailable to users for nearly 7 hours. Experts estimate that the Facebook outage is estimated at $160 million – the most widespread malfunctions since 2019. According to Downdetector, there were more than 100 thousand complaints from users around the world about problems with access to social networks.
The outages, however, did not lead to the disclosure of Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp users' data.
Facebook and Instagram employees apologized to users on Twitter for the inconvenience and said they were working on a solution to the problem.
