Changes in search results due to Google’s header algorithm

Serpstat team conducted a study that confirmed the information stated by Google:

  • the majority of snippet titles have changed – about 60;
  • Title information matches the title in only 36% of snippets, although according to the statement of Google algorithm after the update should take into account the Title meta tag in 87% of snippets;
  • most often – in 59% of cases – titles are formed from the text content of the page.

Thus, after the update, Title meta tags began to appear in the snippets of search results significantly less frequently. In this regard, it is necessary to:

  1. Investigate the SERPs and make changes to the text content, if necessary.
  2. Analyze the possible reasons for their ignoring by the search engine: lack of information, inconsistency with the contents of the page, an excessive number of keywords.
  3. Keep track of the quality and structure of all content – it allows search bots to understand page content more easily and display the most relevant data to users.
