Elon Musk offered to buy Twitter for $43 billion

Elon Musk wrote to Twitter chairman Bret Taylor that Twitter should be transformed into a private company. He is willing to offer $54.2 per share in cash, a deal that would value all of Twitter at about $43 billion.

Musk bought a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter in early April and was also supposed to become a board member, but on the day of his appointment, Elon Musk refused to join the board.

Notes Twitter stock was valued at $45.85 apiece. After the offer, they went up 18%.
