Google crawls over half of all URLs with HTTP/2

The source –

Speaking at I/O 2021, Google's John Mueller revealed that the company already crawls over half of all URLs over HTTP/2.

GoogleBot first began crawling a limited number of sites over HTTP/2 in November last year. And six months later, more than half of the URLs are processed this way. According to SEO terminology, this is the so-called crawl budget, which will help save Googlebot time in crawling the server.

The number of connections and the load on the bandwidth have been significantly reduced. This happened due to the use of multiplexing streams and compressing headers. The improvements affect the site's infrastructure as well.
