Google presented My Ad Center – a tool for managing advertising preferences

The source – searchengineland.com

According to the company, My Ad Center will allow users to keep track of the brands they like and opt out of certain categories of advertising.

How it works

A user in My Ad Center communicates his or her preferences directly to Google. The choice of topics does not depend on his or her browser activity and will not change after three weeks.

In this way, a user with certain interests can select them as his preferred theme, and he will be shown ads related to them. Similarly, he can follow ads for certain brands whose products he prefers.

In addition, users will be able to:

  1. Access ad preference settings in both My Ad Center and the ad itself.
  2. Limit unwanted advertising topics (e.g., dating, weight loss).

3. Refuse any personalization when displaying ads, including age, relationship status, education, and demographic data. Users will be able to choose which data sources Google will use to personalize search ads and YouTube recommendations.

During the launch phase, My Ad Center will work for ads on Search, YouTube and Google Discover.
