The new feature is designed to encourage prominent opinion leaders to post content regularly.
Paid subscribers will get a purple icon with a crown, which will be displayed in their comments on posts and Stories views. Live streams for these subscribers will also be marked with a purple "Live" icon.
The feature is now being tested among several bloggers: a "Subscribe" button has appeared on their profiles. Subscriptions are expected to range in price from $0.99 to $99.99 per month. This gives users access to exclusive content (live and Stories) and a badge that distinguishes them from other subscribers.
Meta doesn't plan to charge a portion of bloggers' revenue from subscriptions until at least 2023.
