France admits violation of European laws by Google Analytics

The source – cnil.fr

The French data protection watchdog (CNIL) has agreed that Google Analytics does not comply with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Under the definitions of the GDPR, the U.S. does not provide adequate privacy for personal data, so Google Analytics violates the law.

The CNIL considered a specific case of GA use on a French site. As a result, it banned the administrator of the site from using this analytics system in its former mode. The owner of this web resource was given a month to comply. This high-profile precedent could have consequences and lead to others.
