Authorship has no effect on Google rankings

At a meeting for webmasters, John Mueller was asked if it makes a difference in ranking if you have a recognized and reputable doctor writing medical content when it comes to Google's EAT recommendations.

John responded - no, there would be no "quantifiable difference" between services and the authority of physician writers in terms of ranking. John said that "purely from an SEO standpoint, it probably doesn't matter either way."

"I don't think you'll notice a difference in ranking if you pick one author or the other."
