LinkedIn is ending its LinkedIn Stories experiment<\/strong> following Twitter’s decision to drop its Fleets social story project in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As LinkedIn explained:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We introduced Stories last year as a fun and casual way to share quick video updates. We learned a lot. Now we’re using that knowledge to develop the Stories format into a reimagined video experience on LinkedIn that will be even more rich and conversational. We want to consistently leverage Stories’ mixed media and creative tools across our platform, while working to integrate it more closely with your professional identity.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, LinkedIn Stories in its current form will be removed<\/strong> at the end of September. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conclusions LinkedIn has drawn on Stories according to user reactions \u2013 they want<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To have their content in Stories remain available after 24 hours of showing on their profile;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To have more creative tools to create engaging videos across the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, LinkedIn will incorporate these two wishes into its next video project, which will now be developed instead of Stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LinkedIn didn’t provide any details, but with its acquisition of the Jumprope video platform earlier this month, it will likely seek to develop more professional video demonstration tools for user profiles.
